The 4th Benny New Adventure finds Bernice cast into the role of detective, as she's trapped on a spaceship with umpteen other detectives and the passengers are dropping like flies. The novel is written as a broad comedy, with all the detectives being not so subtle variation on Miss Marple, Poirot, etc. Readable fluff, but ultimately neither clever or funny enough to really care about. Not one of Stones better books...

Dave Stone's writing takes another turn for the worse in this pretty dire book. Some of his other stuff (ie Death and Diplomacy) has been funny and enjoyable, but this is just too crazy. There is no story at all to follow, and Bernice is practically unrecognisable. Avoid this one at all costs.
