I only read this book as part of course work and would never really have bothered ...but boy am I glad I did. It is beautifully written. A one off book that is perfect apart from I couldn't put it down. It is an alternative world where whits are enslaved and Africa is the central power and the enslavers. To describe the book like that is basic but that is the backdrop of the story. It is very good and so many quality characters. Two problems: one is you need to read Zulu Heart to get all the ends ...
