Editorial Review:Amazon.co.uk Review:Nas comes 16th in
Ego Trip's Book of Rap Lists's "Greatest Emcees of All-Time" so it's no surprise that his albums are always greeted with the maximum of fuss.
Stillmatic should be no exception. Will it be as good as
Illmatic, Nas' phenomenal debut--the album that announced a revolutionary literate rapping talent? Five albums down the line, he's survived the second album doldrums, a spat with a crucified Puffy and a battling Jay Z. The press will always crow that this isn't
Illmatic but the fans know that Nas has lyrical skills that most MCs would cry blood for.
Stillmatic is super-league hip-hop. No messing... just upper cut Muhammed Ali shaolin class with guests like Mary J Blige helping him bash all-comers. Nas ain't never gonna make another
Illmatic so revel in his rhymes on "Every Ghetto" bop your head as the music weaves through freaky hypercharged funk on "Braveheart Party" warm, soul on "D.O.E" and marvel. Nas is a maverick, that's why we love him--

compared to i am and nastradamus, this is a step ahead- compared to illmatic and some moments of it was written, still wack.

Back on the hardcore block and with plenty to prove after two years without a record under his own name, Nas designed Stillmatic as a response: to the rap cognoscenti who thought he'd become a relic, and most of all to Jay-Z, the East Coast kingpin who wounded his pride and largely replaced him as the best rapper in hip-hop. The saga started back in the summer of 2001 with the mixtape "Stillmatic," Nas' answer track to an on-stage dis by Jay-Z. A few months after Jay-Z countered with the devastating ...

complete pants it is..
he says he don't wanna do another illmatic...
but listen to stillmatic then go back and listen to his debut.... this has nothin on it.... unless you don't mind listenin to cheesey beats that some high paid producer has laided out while brushing his teeth that very morning. yes i have to say that some of the lyrics are some of his best. well apart from his illmatic..............
sorry NAS, you fell of and bumped your head somewhere along the line..

Class lp. Picked this up in HMV with two minds on whether to buy it. I hadn't go any Nas and it was this or Public enemy, and i though, I've heard public enemy loads of times, let's try Nas, and boy am i glad! Ether is the best diss ever. Tell you what, if he comes out with something like that against 50, 50's beat! Love all the tracks here, and he's still going strong. Great beats and Nas is one of the saviours of the game!
Like this? Try Dr Dre or Jay Z

This was the 2nd Nas album I purchased and is Class I just started listening to Hip hop after the Jay-z Nas beef but i can easily say that Nas won. The best tracks are as follows; the ones I don't mention are all listenable and good tracks but could have been better.
Ether. Amazing, kills Jay-z and shows that when Nas is provoked can kill anyone with one track.
Got ur self a ... Class single with an amazing beat and superb chorus.
You're Da Man. Amazing song ...
