This anime is cute, clever and endearing. Its all about the characters. No clever plot here. Understated and quality anime. I recommend this. Im really picky with anime, but i keep coming back to watch this series.

Rating: - Not much left to see , if you've already read the comic
Being a big fan of the comic / manga series of this , I thought I'd give the animated version a try.

Unfortunatly , it wasn't as amusing as the comic ... mind you i had read the comic myself , so I guess I couldn't really laugh at the same jokes twice.

I really sorta think this kind of humour work better on paper than on screen really too .... alot of things don't work out so well in an animated show .... alot of the jokes look better in comic form .....

I came to this DVD via the manga version of the series which in turn I bought because I'd been so impressed by 'Yotsuba&!' by the same author (a Yotsuba&! anime would be superb!). The manga is good but nowhere near as engaging as the anime. I bought the full series box set from an Amazon marketplace trader (Caiman) in NTSC form and I watched the first disc last night: I'm still laughing. Rating: - Genius- Funniest Anime Ever
the other night me and a few friends had an anime movie night. countup showed we had enough to watch anime straight for around 2 days.
when this was proposed, i too was put off by the cover. i'm a guy, and the case made me thing 'girl manga'. we gave it a chance for an episode, and it was probably the funniest thing ive seen in months. we ended up watching all we had of it, it was so funny. we only got through 10 straight hours, and azumanga made up a decent amount of it.
