British silent Comedy at it's best. You just couldn't imagine the amount of scrapes you can get into by merely transporting one plank from A to B

This is an almost silent film. It is in colour and does capture its time so well.The backdrop is what England was like in 1967. As a lady friend commented "I had a pair of boots like that! They came from Biba!" The humour is as timeless as a Charlie Chaplin movie, but I think much much slicker. It staggers you when you realise that there is so little dialogue to help it along. ...not in the sense that it is the best of it's genre, but in the sense that it is typical of it. If you needed to to have just one exemplar of british 'silly' humour, this would fit all the requirements. Reminiscent of it's predecessors The Goons, Dad's Army and (early) Carry On, and probably inspirational to followers such as The Goodies.
