Sonic's back and here to stay. Sonic Team vowed this would bring the series back to it's roots and has got pretty close to that. The speed is mind-blowing, better than before. The action isn't bad either, working in teams to defeat Robotnik's minions.

I had been hoping to get hold of a decent Sonic game for years. There are so few Sonic games that have been made available for the PC. I don't have a PS2.
Anyway, the game is fast-paced, naturally, and follows the premise of old-school Sonic games, but in true 3D. It features brilliant combo moves, exciting action and a presents a fun challenge. The special effects are most impressive.
