I have been a long standing user of PSP but once Corel got thier hands on it it's all over.
PSP was a byword for effective, efficient and inexpensive photo editing software. Now it is none of these. Bloatware springs to mind and not cheap either. Do yourself a favour and find an old copy of PSP 7 it will do everything you ask and it will even run off your USB stick.
If you reaaly want to spend the cash, spend it on photoshop elements 6 or save your pennies for a few months and go for ...

This product is not the best organizer, but the photo editor is brilliant and much better than Photoshop elements 5. If you are looking for a photo organizer I recommend Google Picasa (www.google.co.uk/picasa).
Overall I find that Paint shop pro is the best picture editing software available and outshines Adobe Photoshop Elements.
Before you buy remember to go to the Corel website (www.corel.co.uk) and try the free 30 day trial.

Bought the whole package, the free Corel Snapfire 30 day trial had expired without even trying it, the updates for Pain Shop Pro Photo x1 would not download. Phoned the help line who gave me a link for Snapfire, downoaded that only to find my key number would not work in that one. all in all, better stick with the one you have. A complete waste of money.

I've used PSP 7, ordered the box and book, used it until PSP 8, got it too, and was so happy about the moves forward, yes some bugs, still and yet, a good program. PSP 9, without hesitation, picked it up as well. However, I wasn't blown away with solid sticking to it conviction until PSP X! I love it! It was innovative, with a few bugs, but they were fixed and I was happy. My plan had ...

I've used Paint Shop Pro for the last 10 years, it all went wrong with version 8, version 9 got better and then version X and XI became a waste of space. If you want to do really good graphics editing then there is no choice - PHOTOSHOP!, people only use Paint Shop Pro because it's easier to use than Photoshop for most easy functions - Once they make it just as hard to use as Photoshop then what's the point?? If you're serious about graphics you'd be a mug to buy this, if you want a good simple editing ...
