Editorial Review:Amazon.co.uk Review:Emo might be swiftly shaping up to be the sound of disenfranchised 21st Century youth, but one listen to
The Black Parade raises serious doubts that the genre will prove big enough to contain My Chemical Romance. The third studio album from this New Jersey quintet breaks new ground in grandiosity, an ambitious parade of passionate emotional hardcore, political ire and pantomime frivolity set to a scope seldom seen since the days of Queen. Any moping is short-lived: frontman Gerard Way might sing "If you look in the mirror and don't like what you see/You can find out firsthand what it's like to be me" on the opening "The End", but it's really just a new beginning, the band sweeping back a curtain to reveal a suite of frantically enjoyable outsider anthems. Importantly, MCR have a humour many of their peers lack: "Mama", featuring guest vocals from Liza Minnelli, appears to be a satire of the Iraq war set to a jumpy polka beat; meanwhile, the Hoodie Generation gets its own tongue-in-cheek anthem with "Teenagers" ("They said all/Teenagers scare/The living **** out of me"). Impassioned, inspired and amusing,
The Black Parade takes the bar set by Green Day's
American Idiot and raises it one notch higher.--
Louis Pattison

I hadn't heard anything by them until ITV used the track 'Welcome to the Black Parade' during the Brazilian F1 Grand Prix. I didn't know who it was by but was instantly hooked. A few mouse clicks later and I'd found out the artist and had ordered the album.
I received it today and couldn't wait to play it. Absolutely fantastic! The only problem (!) is that I'm now going to have to buy the rest of the albums. It's such a long time since I've heard music that immediately grabs my attention. ...

This band is a big steaming pile of poo. I couldn't agree more with other comments about complete lack of true emotion, brain grating insincere vocals and generally an all round bland yet obnoxious listening experience. There isn't anything here to rival their lowest point - I'm not ok (i promise) - from their previously vomited effort, but the fact this pile of rubbish hit the market so much harder is such a tragedy for music. Credit where it's due, there's no doubt this band have vision, it's just such ...

MCR has always been one of those guilty pleasures for me. I know I shouldn't like it, but I love it regardless. I bought this album within the first week it came in out (2006 I think?) and have been listening to it ever since. Emo rock, catchy melodies, unforgettable lyrics, dark topics and pure, raw emotion - all things that have made this album, at least in my eyes, one of those I will never forget. I've saw MCR live back in March 07' on their tour for this album as well and have to say, that the band are ...

The Black Parade is the third album by emo, punk band My Chemical Romance, following 2004's "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenege", It got to second in the British album charts; it features the hit single Welcome To The Black Parade. There are 3 other singles in this album "I Don't Love You", "Famous Last Words" and "Teenagers". The album got mostly favourable review when it came out but how good is it?
The first ...

This was the first My Chem album I bought. I was pulled in by "Teenagers" and "Welcome to the black parade" immediatly, but I actually took the plunge and bought the album two years after it's release. If I hadn't bought it that day, I don't know where I'd be now.The Black Parade definitely lets MCR's classic rock influences seep through (compare TBP to 'The Wall', Pink Floyd)
THIS CD ROCKS!!! BUY IT NOW!!!
