Needed a simple widescreen satnav for European road travelling without bells & whistles (ie bluetooth, MP3 player, spoken road names etc). Bought this as a demo unit - £70 incl. shipping. Downloaded Q3/2008 Western Europe maps (available on Navigon website; £55 incl. 24 month updates) & did a software update through Navigon FRESH. Rating: - TS7000T All updated and working fine.
Following RB's advice below, I downloaded and installed Navigon Fresh from the Navigon uk website onto my pc, and then as soon as I got the unit out of the box I updated the software. I also backed everything up onto my pc and purchased a 4 GB memory card to load all of the maps etc onto.

Regarding the age of the maps, thanks to the power of the internet, I managed to acquire a 2008 2nd quarter map and this is working extremely well. I have also acquired a 2007 USA map but cannot travel ... Read More

Navigon TS7000T Satellite Navigation System - Full Europe and TMC

Although packed with features, the maps were from 2006. Despite Navigon issuing a one-off update to customers with a new unit, this was not the case with the TS7000T (not sure why).

Rating: - I was Lost
Sent it back - thank God for Amazons excellent returns policy. Old maps, wrong directions, cumbersome, traffic updates that do not work - possibly because plastic aerial is useless and ugly if installed. Spend more and get a lot better than this.

Rating: - Only satisfactory
After using the unit for a couple of long trips on motorways and through cities, I'm overall satisfied with the performance of the TS7000T.

Good points:
Clear instructions well in time
Fast calculation of routes
Seamless re-calculation when taking a different route
Comes with complete EU maps, great for holidays.
TMC antenna supplied for free unlimited traffic updates

Bad points:
