We bought two gupis for our children's Christmas presents, and had similar problems to those mentioned by other reviewers. Neither worked properly - one wouldn't charge at all, and the other only ever managed to walk around in circles a few times before also "dying". When we checked the instructions, and tried to get info. online, we realized that we'd been sent the "old" version 2 gupis, not the V.3.0 ones - although we'd ordered the latter.

We brought two Gupis for the children this Christmas. Both arrived but one did not work and will have to be returned.
The other Gupi works and is reasonably entertaining - for so long as the charge lasts. Having followed the instructions and left it plugged in for 12 hours to condition the battery, the best working time has only ever been 20 minutes. After which it has to be plugged in for another hour. The one working toy is also tempremental and needs to be switched on and off ...

Gupi V3.0 Interactive Guinea PigI have just ordered another replacement Gupi, it will be the third since Christmas. The first arrived DOA, it wouldnt gulp and therefore wouldnt charge, so I sent it back and got another (not great for an xmas present).
The second one arrived today and we put it on charge again, no gulp but we thought we would wait and see, after 30 mins, a loud pop and smoke started pouring from it's bum. The casing melted, lovely smell of burning Gupi - the batteries ...

First of all, the rating system doesn't appear to accept no stars so I have had to give this product one star which is laughable for something (actually things) which just don't work. We bought two Gupis as Xmas presents for our kids. First thing we discovered was that one of the chargers didn't work (it had no inspection sticker on it unlike the other) but what the heck - we had another one so no real problem. hi there, we decided on gupi when we searched for an interactive dog for my 4 yr old, a very loving little boy who has loved all his teddies to death, we were a little put off by the price but after reading the reviews we ordered one and i have to say gupi stole the show for christmas day, my son was able to operate him self, feeding her, putting her to sleep and chasing the carrot(the little noises she makes are very sweet and during christmas lunch the adults did question why were talking in hushed ...
