We bought a Henry three years ago and at first it seemed fantastic - so many 5 star reviews here, in the early days of owning Henry I completely agree with them. However, over time the tubes do wear against each other and loosen which means they have an annoying tendency to fall off for the umpteenth time every few minutes. Also, as a lot of people here have pointed out, although it seems like a rounded hoover should slide gracefully around objects like tables when you pull the cord, Henry tends to get stuck on practically everything and you have to walk back and move it around the obstacle. Also, falls over really easily. Oh, and contrary to other reports on here, the bag needs emptying just as much as any other hoover we've ever owned.
We put up with most of this anyway because all in all it did a good job - however our son's favourite past-time with Henry is pulling out the power cord and then winding it back up again using the spinning handle on top of Henry. Well, it doesn't take long for the cable to get all knotted up within the drum inside Henry and eventually we had such a short cable left that we couldn't really use Henry any more and had to open it up. By the way - I do not recommend opening up Henry to repair the knotted cable - you realise how cheaply the thing is put together!
Needless to say, we're not going to be buying another one. But what shall we buy - had any equally appalling time with Dysons too!

I cannot fault HENRY, infact I am on my second one. The first one lasted me 26 years and it had fallen down the stairs on several occasions, without a mark on it and still smiling!

Like so many reviewers before me I have tried every other vac on the market from cheap to Dyson. They've all let me down in different ways, so after reading the positive reviews I decided to get a Henry. I have two young girls and 4 cats and a big 3 storey house so lots of mess, but Henry copes with everything they and my DIY can throw at him. Fabulous design exceptional power and a friendly face....get one every family needs a Henry (or a Henrietta!)

The Henry has a long hose, long cord that's easy to wind, a powerful motor and is generally easy to use. It could be better on carpets. It doesn't pick up cat fur well and a scrubbing motion is necessary, but it still does a poor job.

This is an absolutely fantastic vacuum cleaner which has been engineered to last and has great suction. It comes with a range of attachments and reusable bags.
It gets bonus 'man points' for sounding like a jet engine starting up, although not quite as loud!
